Watergate Gallery’s FW Exhibit

“After entering into last year’s FotoWeek on the late side I was glad that I had in fact participated and wanted to be sure to make arrangements early enough this year to participate again.  There was definitly an energy that could be felt during the week with so many events taking place throughout the area.” - Dale Johnson, Watergate Gallery

Watergate Gallery is featuring an exhibit by Alexander “Sasha” Vasiljev titled “Naked Fools / Wild Fur” .  Vasiljev was born in the Ukraine and received his degree in botany before having the opportunity to study photography under the mentorship of renowned landscape photographer, Mashkov.  After immigrating to the United States and subsequent travels throughout the United States, Central America, Europe and Asia Vasiljev further developed his visual direction doing portraiture, conceptual, wildlife and fine art photography.

In this show he explores mankind and animals in a poignant manner.  Sasha has done extensive photography of the landscape in Costa Rica with several of his photographs on permanent display at the Embassy of the Republic of Costa Rica in Washington DC.
