During this week-long celebration of photography in the nation’s capital, events will be organized to attract those who make a living practicing the art, science, business, education, and craft of photography as well as amateur photographers and the simply curious. FotoWeek DC will offer the entire Washington, D.C., community the opportunity to come together to focus on photography’s place in our world, to explore new ideas about the future of photography, and to experience photography’s many forms and enriching power.

The Gala

A gala evening of festivity and celebration, to be held at the National Geographic Society, is the culminating event of FotoWeek DC. Photographers, both amateur and professional, whose work has been recognized by a distinguished panel of judges, will be toasted at a VIP reception and honored in an awards ceremony in the Society's Grosvenor Auditorium.
